January 23rd 2017

This is the first week in the past like 3 weeks I have not been sick! It was wonderful! I really don't like being sick it is the worst.

We have had a really awesome week! We got a referral to go visit a lady in the State hospital and so we went on Friday and the building we were trying to get into had no main entrance and we were wondering around the place for like 15mins before someone took pity on us and told us where to go. Then we were searched before we could go in! It was fun! It was a really awesome lesson as well! We taught about the Atonement and how we can heal with the Saviors help.

We have another guy we are working with who has been studying the Church the past 6 years! He is so ready for the Gospel, He really wants to do the work for his Father and be sealed to his wife! It was so amazing to see him if anyone has ever been "golden" it is him! He comes to church every week and we thought he was a member already! So we are working with him now!

Church on Sunday was so amazing! covering 2 wards it can be really busy and kind of stressful we are running around and trying to call people and remind them to come and going to meetings that are all at the same time as other meetings we need to be at, it is a very crazy day for us. But the entire time I just felt so much peace! It just reminded me how this really is the Lords church and he cares about us. Nothing really big happens but it was the small stuff that was really nice :)

Love you all! Hope you have a wonderful week!

This week has been kinda crazy! I have been sick for most of it but I am feeling a ton better now!
We had an exchange with the Elders Serving in Westcliffe it is a small branch but they had a baptism in the community swimming pool after it closed! It was really cool!

It taught me a lesson I thought I knew but it was good to be reminded of, Heavenly father does not care about the location, or when it happens He just wants us to make the steps we need to take to return to him. On is baptism, done by the Priesthood of God. It does not need to be in a church building. It was really awesome to see how Heavenly Father made it all happen!

The weather here has been super weird as well, it has been foggy and rainy all week. It looks like it is going to clear up again later on in the week though so that will be super awesome!

Love you guys!

This was a really awesome week! We had Elder Wakien E Costa of the 70 come and teach the Pueblo stake! He was so funny and invited the spirit every time that He spoke! Elder Garton and I were invited into a wrap up session with him after and it was really awesome to get to know and talk with him in a council setting!

It was really fantastic to hear as well in the Sunday session, President and sister Rehm talked about how the Temple and the Home are the intersection of the Pre-mortal, Mortal and Post Mortal life! It was just really cool to think about it that way, I don't think it had ever occurred to me like that.
I also got really sick this week... I have strep again! 2nd time in less than 6months. Being sick is never fun but it really is not fun on the mission. Elder Garton has been great though! We have been disinfecting the entire apartment ahah I must have not learned my lesson last time I got sick so hopefully I get it this time! :)

We also had got about 5in of snow Thursday we went to the Zoo and shoveled snow for about an hour it was so much fun! After we went and warmed in one of the inside exhibits it was a really fun day!

Hope that you all are able to stay warm and healthy! Love you guys!

Happy Birth day Sister Schwartz! Thank you for your strong example of faith! You are one of the people I look to for strength when hard times come! I know that your example will be one that I take with me the rest of my life! Thank you!

Happy Birthday Aunt Diana! Love you and hope that everything goes well for you!

Happy 5 years to the Mychal and Scott! I am so excited for you both to be parents! You will do great!
So this week my shoes finally gave out. The past 15months I have been wearing the same pair of shoes every day, I was hoping to make them last because I have a love hate relationship with shoe shopping but alas, my right shoe is broken. I can make it talk though. It is kind of like a shoe puppet. I am thinking of getting googly eyes and gluing them on and finding a way to use it in lessons... I think it would be really fun! I have been wrong before however so who know.

I think it will be a great way to start the New Year with some new shoes! Another good way however is to also review personal goals and set some new ones!

In my study of the scriptures today I saw something new. Throughout all of the Bible, Book of Mormon. The Children of Israel leaving Egypt is talked about. Moses parting the red sea is something that has a lot of mention in the scriptures as well. I started to think about that, those things are there for a reason, what is that teaching what does that miracle have to do with me today in 2017? Then I had the thought it was a foundation for them. It is something that they knew happened and that they could not deny.

So I thought "What is my Red Sea?" what do I fall back on when hard times come. What stories do I hear and am told when I become really stubborn? I am still trying to figure that out but I just wanted to share :) and I want you all to think about that as well! What is your Red sea? What brings you peace when hard times come?

Find it and hold on to it.
I love you all! I know that it can be a great year! Go and make it what you want it to be!

Merry Christmas! And a truly Happy New year to you all! I love this time of year when we get to celebrate with one another the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!

This has been a very eventful week for us here in Pueblo! I have a new companion now as of 9:30 this morning. Elder Lloyd is now serving as the new assistant to President Rehm. It was a ton of fun working with him here in Pueblo, He is a hard working missionary and will do great in his new assignment!

We drove up to Colorado Spring this morning at 8:30, and made the switch, I am now serving with Elder Garton. He is from California, and is super excited to be here in Pueblo!
This past week we have been going through all the paper work for the area, we compiled everything into about 4 binders! It sounds like a lot and that is mostly because it is ahah. We are slowly but surely setting up appointments and helping in our own little way move the work along. Things really are going very well though here in Pueblo!

Thank you all so much for the Christmas Cards and gifts! It is always wonderful to hear from home and from family and friends!

I hope that you all enjoyed the #lighttheworld I know for myself it brought me so much closer to my savior and helped me get into the Spirit of Christmas! As the New Year comes around I hope that you all set goals that will help you come closer our Savior and Heavenly Father. They love us so much and will help us accomplish the hard things in life One by one!

Love you guys and hope that you know that good things will always come, even in dark and hard times look to the Lord!

Hello friends!
I hope that you all had a good week and if you didn't then I am sorry. Have a better week this week! :)
We had a pretty adventurous week here! We went on exchanges and had a sick jam session after District meeting it was really fun!

So the past week it has been pretty warm in the 60's and sometimes 70's but his Saturday everything changed and it got really cold! It snowed Friday night almost all day Saturday and dropped down to about -17 so I got to practice my driving in the snow again! I was slipping and sliding a lot but I didn't hit anything! That in and of itself is a miracle!

Because of the roads and the below 0 temperatures they cancelled church but our Ward mission leader invited us over for breakfast and we watched general conference. We were watching one of Elder Hollands talks and He said. "I have struggled to find an adequate way to tell you how loved of God you are and how grateful we on this stand are for you. I am trying to be voice for the very angels of heaven in thanking you for every good thing you have ever done, for every kind word you have ever said, for every sacrifice you have ever made in extending to someone—to anyone—the beauty and blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ."

It is so amazing to me to see just how much we are loved by God he is always there for us, waiting for us to do even the smallest thing that He can bless us for. He has given us so much and still has so much more to give us!

Never forget no matter what happens how much God loves you!
This Gospel is beautiful and it is just for you!
